I love to decorate for fall in and around my home but I generally stay neutral when it comes to Halloween decor. I came across this fun CQ project that I could not resist. I started gathering fabric, trims and such and have more than enough to complete two or more hats. If any of the readers of my blog (which I know is rather random) comments I will gladly ship the extra completed witch's hat to a lucky winner. My progress so far:
Pieced two hats and ready to start embellishing.
Added trim and now for the fun....stitching!
More photos to come as project continues. It will be fun to see who stops by my blog.
Please leave me a comment so I can enter you into a drawing.

Great idea . Glad to see you started the hat. Love the layout so far.
Of course put me in for the drawing
Hi Barb, I love the fabrics that you've chosen. How large is your hat? Decorative or for use?
I don't need another hat because I've made one here:

I would love to have a witches' hat sitting on the entry hall sideboard during the holidays. Thanks for the opportunitiy to win. Where did you find the pattern...in case I have to make my own, lol.
Hi Ladies,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment or two. I enjoyed looking at your blogs and loved the creativity of your hats.
Mine will measure approx. 18" tall and 12" wide. It is totally for decoration. Shari: I found a picture of a witch's hat on line which I saved quite some time ago but adapted another pattern to fit this project. Gerry's blog has a link to a pattern if you are looking for one to try. I will put your name in the hat for the drawing. Stay tuned for more progress reports. Barb
I've been working on my hat for 2 years now. Was hoping this year would see it done and on my head, but the 31st is coming at me like freight train! Please put my name in the "hat" for the drawing.
I am excited to see the finished hats! I am in a blog hop in about 10 days and am also working on a piece very similar.
I would love to win one of yours! :)
I've seen a few of these witch's hats and they are stunning! I can't wait to see how yours turn out!
I LOVE the idea of a cq witches hat!
:) Linda
